The second issue of the FLEETfor55 newsletter is here, and it’s packed with momentum. From a landmark General Assembly in Rome to technical breakthroughs and a year of achievements, the project is firmly on course toward zero-emission maritime transport.
Rome General Assembly: The Consortium Comes Together
At the end of January, the FLEETfor55 consortium gathered in Rome for its General Assembly (January 28-29), reviewing groundbreaking progress and aligning on the strategic path ahead. Key decisions were made, collaborative discussions shaped the project’s direction, and partners left with a shared vision for the year to come.
Task 3.2 Technical Workshop: Deep in the Details
The newsletter also highlights the success of the Task 3.2 Technical Workshop, a deep dive into the technical core of the project. Partners from RINA, the National Technical University of Athens, HYDRUS, DST, and DNV collaborated closely to explore advanced retrofitting solutions, innovative vessel designs, and cutting-edge digital tools — the building blocks of a decarbonised European fleet.
2025: A Year of Achievements
The second issue also takes stock of what FLEETfor55 accomplished in its first year, celebrating milestones reached and setting ambitious goals for the months ahead.
Beyond the Consortium
Project coordinator Astrinos Papadakis represented FLEETfor55 at the AENEAS EU Project’s 3rd Stakeholder Workshop on January 29th, presenting the project’s progress alongside pioneering developments in energy storage and sustainable maritime solutions within the EUWT-SE cluster — a reminder that FLEETfor55’s impact extends well beyond its own consortium.
